Lauren’s Luxury Gift Guide for Men

Last updated: December 18, 2024

Nick’s note: I got a few messages asking for gift ideas for men. All of my gift ideas trend towards travel gear and tech stuff. But I got my girlfriend to type up her favorites, so here you go.

Shopping for men can feel impossible.

What do you get for someone who insists they don’t need anything?

I made this list by pulling together some of my own go-to favorites and consulting the most stylish, in-the-know guys I know.

Not everything here is budget-friendly. Some of the list leans more aspirational than practical. But I think that’s what makes a great gift.

Sometimes the best presents are the luxury versions of the things we use every day.

Apparel & Accessories

Crew neck, button-down shirts, pants, money clip, glasses, socks, boots, and waterproof insulated shoes.

James Perse Short Sleeve Crew Neck Tee

An elevated basic that stands out for its fit and quality. It’s soft, effortlessly stylish, and durable—one of those shirts you’ll want in every color. A go-to for layering or wearing solo.

RRL Shirts

RRL (Double RL) is a staple for men who appreciate rugged, Western-inspired style done right. Known for their timeless quality and details, these shirts are pieces you keep forever—and if my dad’s loyalty to the brand says anything, they’re worth the investment.

Poncho Shirts

Lightweight, breathable, and made to withstand the Texas heat, Poncho Shirts are a wardrobe hero for any guy who wants to look pulled together without sweating through his clothes. Perfect for summer, but versatile year-round.

Faherty Stretch Terry 5 Pocket Pants

If there’s such a thing as perfect pants, these might be it. Made with a super soft, stretchy fabric that feels like sweats but looks sharp enough for a dinner out, they’re the ultimate pair for guys who value comfort without sacrificing style.

Clint Orms Money Clip

True craftsmanship at its finest. Made in Ingram, Texas, Clint Orms creates silver pieces that are equal parts practical and heirloom-worthy. The money clips are understated and elegant (even the rubber band versions are impressive). For a special gift, consider custom engraving—small belt buckles and money clips with initials or ranch logos make for one-of-a-kind treasures that will be passed down for generations.

Lauren’s Note: Nick is going to be mad at me for including this, but this gift guide isn’t one that’s rooted in practicality!

Moscot Lemtosh Glasses

A classic frame from a fifth-generation, family-owned company. The Lemtosh is universally flattering, with sizes and custom options to suit anyone’s style. Whether worn as glasses or sunglasses, they’re timeless and cool without trying too hard.

Darn Tough Merino Wool Socks

Don’t underestimate the power of good socks. Darn Tough’s lifetime warranty proves their confidence in the product—and once you try these, you’ll understand why. Made with high-quality merino wool, they’re durable, temperature-regulating, and just plain comfortable.

Chisos Boots

Started by our friend Will Roman, Chisos makes boots with heart and heritage. Handmade in small batches, they’re the kind of boots that get better with age. Whether you’re a cowboy boot veteran or just dipping your toes into Texas tradition, these are a worthy pair. If you’re in Austin, their shop is a must-visit.

MTE Sk8-Hi Waterproof Insulated Shoe

A winter-ready spin on the classic Vans Sk8-Hi, these shoes are insulated, waterproof, and just as stylish. Great for snow days and winter adventures—Nick’s go-to this season in Aspen. Because I bought them for him.

Home & Tech

A side table tech charger, speakers, blanket, candle, ice maker, cutting board, pour-over set, and a bidet toilet seat.

Courant Phone Charger Catch-All

This sleek wireless charger keeps your essentials organized while looking effortlessly cool. Whether it’s on a nightstand, entry table, or desk, it’s a design-forward way to keep clutter at bay.

Sonos Roam Portable Speaker

Compact, portable, and perfect for on-the-go listening, the Roam is ideal if you already have a Sonos system at home. Take it to the beach, on a hike, or just out to the backyard—it’s durable and sounds amazing everywhere.

Marshall Acton III Bluetooth Home Speaker

Looks like a vintage amp but has all the modern functionality you need. While I can’t personally tell the difference between this and other high-end speakers, the reviews are glowing, and it makes a serious design statement on any shelf or counter.

Pendleton Yakima Camp Throw

Warm, cozy, and classically beautiful, this is the kind of throw blanket you keep forever. It’s great for draping over a couch, the foot of a bed, or packing for a camping trip—equal parts functional and decorative.

Boy Smells Cedar Stack Candle

This candle is a crowd-pleaser: warm, woodsy, and sophisticated with notes of cedar, labdanum, and juniper. It’s a great pick for anyone who doesn’t love overly sweet or floral scents, and it gets compliments every time I light it.

Opal Ice Maker

The holy grail for chewable ice lovers. If you know someone obsessed with Sonic ice (or good ice), this will blow their mind.

Boos Block Cutting Board

A kitchen essential that also happens to look beautiful on the counter. Whether you’re chopping vegetables or carving steaks, Boos Block boards are durable, high-quality, and made to last.

Kinto Pour-Over Set

For coffee enthusiasts who appreciate the ritual of a pour-over, this set brings a little calm and craftsmanship to the morning routine. It’s sleek, functional, and makes a perfect cup every time.

TOTO WASHLET C2 Electronic Bidet Toilet Seat

Bidets are having a moment, and every guy I know is loving them. This one offers a clean, refreshing experience and is a great way to upgrade any bathroom routine.

Nick’s note: I feel more qualified to talk about bidets, so I want to note this one she selected only works if you have a power outlet near your toilet, which most people don’t. Instead, I suggest this elongated bidet toilet seat combo. I just installed it in my apartment and love it.

Grooming & Self-Care

My favorite moisturizer, hair loss product, sunscreen, hand soap, shampoo & conditioner, and perfume.

Jack Black Face Moisturizer

Simple, effective, and no-frills—this moisturizer hydrates without feeling heavy or greasy. A solid addition to any guy’s routine.

Hims Hair Loss Treatments

An easy-to-use treatment for hair loss that actually works. It’s discreet, effective, and a game-changer for guys looking to keep their hair healthy.

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen

Clear, weightless, and non-greasy, this SPF is easy to wear every day.

Grown Alchemist Exfoliating Hand Soap

Does anyone need $42 soap? No. But it’s a small luxury that feels indulgent every time you use it—and it smells incredible.

Nécessaire Scalp Duo (Shampoo + Conditioner)

Gentle, nourishing, and perfect for anyone with a sensitive scalp. It’s like skincare for your hair.

Proraso Shaving Foam

A classic Italian shaving product that delivers a close, comfortable shave. My friend Christopher swears by it.

Le Labo Bergamote 22

Bright, fresh, and subtly complex, Bergamote 22 is a scent that’s universally loved but never overdone. Clean citrus with a touch of wood and musk—it’s the kind of fragrance that feels effortlessly cool.

Art, Books, and More

Golf course prints, frames, NYT subscription, a cookbook, and a bean club.

Golf Course Watercolor Print

These custom watercolor prints are a great way for golfers to showcase their favorite courses—whether it’s their home course, a bucket-list destination, or a spot tied to special memories. Beautifully done and perfect for framing.

Framebridge Custom Framed Prints

Frame anything meaningful—a family photo, an old sports jersey, ticket stubs, or vintage artwork. Framebridge makes the process easy, and the results are always flawless.

New York Times Subscription

I used to get a New York Times subscription as a Christmas gift every year in college, and it’s still one of my favorite presents. From playing the games (Connections, anyone?) to finding endless inspiration in the NYT Cooking section, it’s the kind of gift that adds a little joy and utility to every single day.

Nick’s note: I prefer supporting The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg Businessweek.

Joshua Weissman Cookbook

Josh’s books are perfect for beginners learning the basics and experienced home cooks alike. With clear instructions and great visuals, they make even complicated recipes approachable. His YouTube channel is great, too. Josh is our friend and an Austin local, which makes supporting his work even more special.

The Rancho Gordo Bean Club

Yes, a bean club. For the foodie or home cook in your life, Rancho Gordo’s heirloom beans are a cult favorite.

Conclusion

Like I said in the intro, sometimes the best presents are the luxury versions of the things we use every day.
