Nick’s note: I’ve been dating this woman Lauren who has great taste. I asked her for a list of essentials and favorites and here’s what she sent.

When it comes to gifts—or treating yourself—I always lean toward the things I know and love.

These are my go-to favorites, the items I’ve bought over and over again. Some are practical, some a little indulgent, and a few are simple essentials that always make great stocking stuffers.

Beauty & Personal Care

My favorite body wash, perfumes, nail polish, lipstick, and more.

Parallelle Cosmetic Bag

The ultimate organizer for beauty lovers. This bag opens wide so all your products stand upright, making everything easily accessible. No more rummaging.

Salt & Stone Body Wash in Bergamot + Hinoki Scent

This body wash is a spa in a bottle. The scent is subtle but long-lasting, and it lathers beautifully.

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen

This is my go-to sunscreen, and I’ve gifted it more times than I can count. It’s clear, weightless, and doubles as a perfect primer for makeup.

DS & Durga “I Don’t Know What” Perfume

This perfume is light, fresh, and versatile enough to layer with other fragrances. I pair it with my Le Labo Matcha 26 for a completely unique scent. Yes, it’s pricey, but it’s worth the splurge.

Le Labo The Matcha 26 Perfume

If you love warm, earthy fragrances, this is for you. It layers beautifully with “I Don’t Know What” and has become a signature for me.

LONDONTOWN Kur Illuminating Nail Concealer

This nail product is a miracle worker. It gives your nails a healthy glow while concealing imperfections like yellowing or stains. I always keep the pink shade on hand.

YSL Love Shine Lip Oil Stick in #44 Nude Lavalliere

A universally flattering lip product that also makes a thoughtful gift. You can even get it engraved for an extra-special touch.

Home

Incense, candles, bathroom towels, and one of my favorite blankets.

Incienso de Santa Fe Piñon Incense

This incense smells like a cozy cabin in the woods. It’s made from natural piñon wood, so it has a warm, smoky scent that’s both nostalgic and calming. The bricks are super easy to use, and they last forever.

Brooklyn Candle Studio Candle in Kyoto

I’m obsessed with this scent—it’s fresh, earthy, and transports you straight to a serene Japanese garden. The sleek, minimalist design looks beautiful in any space, and the candle burns cleanly without any weird chemicals. It’s the perfect little luxury for yourself or as a thoughtful gift.

Weezie Towels Signature Starter Pack

If you want to upgrade your bathroom, start here. These towels are plush, absorbent, and beautifully made. They even have a little hook to hang them easily. I’ve gifted this set multiple times, and it’s always a hit.

Jooja Fluffy Faux Fur Blanket

A Barefoot Dreams dupe at a fraction of the price. It’s incredibly soft, lightweight, and cozy—perfect for movie nights, draping over your couch, or gifting to someone who loves a little extra comfort. It comes in a variety of neutral colors and looks super chic in any room.

Clothing

A cashmere sweater, a great gift for moms, Alo yoga set, and a great pair of shoes.

Affordable, versatile, and timeless. I own this in multiple colors and it never pills, even after years of wear. It’s a wardrobe essential for effortless polish.

J.Crew Oversized Cashmere Wrap

Part scarf, part travel blanket, this wrap is a multitasking gem. It’s soft, lightweight, and makes an excellent gift for moms or mother-in-laws.

Doc Martens Zebzag Suede Slingback Platform Mule

These shoes are equal parts comfy and stylish. I get compliments every time I wear them.

Alo Yoga Set

For high-intensity workouts, I swear by Alo’s Airlift Energy Shorts and matching Airlift Intrigue Bra. The fit and durability are top-notch.

Beyond Yoga Spacedye Set

For low-impact workouts or just lounging, Beyond Yoga’s Spacedye fabric is buttery-soft and ultra-comfortable. The Caught In The Midi High Waisted Leggings and Slim Racerback Cropped Tank are my go-tos.

Kitchen Essentials

Must-haves, a tea kettle, my favorite drinking glasses, the best dish soap, hand soap, and more.

East Fork Pottery

These plates and bowls are handmade with a beautiful, minimalist design that elevates any meal. The shallow bowls are perfect for salads, pastas, or even just making your weeknight dinner feel a little more special. They’re super durable and dishwasher-safe, so you don’t have to treat them like fragile art (even though they’re that pretty).

Pro tip: I always wait for East Fork’s annual Seconds Sale, where you can snag these pieces for half off. The “seconds” are perfectly functional items with tiny, barely noticeable imperfections—so worth it!

Crate & Barrel Bodega Glasses Set

Simple, stackable, and perfect for everyday use. They come in three sizes to suit all your beverage needs.

Double-Walled Glass Coffee Mugs

These double-walled glass mugs make every drink feel a little more special. They’re perfect for keeping your coffee hot, and the sleek design just looks so elegant. I love using them for my morning coffee—there’s something so satisfying about seeing the layers in a latte or cappuccino.

Some of these are great for stocking stuffers.

Hu Chocolate Bars

The almond butter and cashew butter-filled options are rich, satisfying, and absolutely delicious.

Brodo Bone Broth

This high-quality broth is delicious and nourishing. I always keep a stash for sipping.

Smith Teamaker Portland Breakfast Tea

This is a nostalgic favorite for me—some of my favorite people would bring this tea every time they visited from Portland. It’s a robust and flavorful black tea with a rich, comforting taste that’s perfect for starting your day. It’s one of those little things that always reminds me of good times and great company.

Momentous Essential Grass-Fed Whey Protein Powder

This protein powder made it onto the “best of” list of a trusted source, and I’ve been loyal ever since. It’s clean, simple, and effective.

Rishi Tea Organic Turmeric Ginger Tea

This tea is perfect for cozy, calming moments. The combination of turmeric and ginger is perfect for supporting your wellness routine, and it has a smooth, warming flavor that’s great any time of day. I love keeping a stash of this around for a little self-care moment, and it also makes for a thoughtful gift for anyone who enjoys wellness-focused gifts.

Miscellaneous

Things that didn’t fit anywhere else.

Electric Heating Pad

This heating pad is a total game-changer. It’s ridiculously soft, with six heat levels and a long cord, making it both practical and luxurious. Plus, it gets really warm—perfect for cozy nights or sore muscles.

Anker Magnetic Battery Charger

This portable charger has a built-in stand, so you can prop your phone up while you charge. It’s great for multitasking or streaming while you’re on the go.

Jason Mark Essential and Suede Kit Shoe Cleaner

If you’re a sneakerhead or, like me, someone who loves suede shoes but struggles to keep them clean, this kit is a must. It’s a four-piece set with everything you need to clean and protect your shoes, including a suede protector to keep them looking fresh and flawless.

Clear Cosmetic Mesh Bags

I live by the bag-in-bag organization method, and these mesh pouches make it easy. They come in two sizes, and because they’re see-through, you can quickly find what you need without digging. Perfect for everyday tote organization or travel.

Conclusion

Every item on this list is something I’ve personally purchased more than once and absolutely love.

Think of this less as a gift guide and more as a collection of my favorite things—perfect for finding a unique gift idea or discovering something special for yourself. Happy shopping!

  1. OMG Hu Chocolate is the bomb. It is pricey at some stores, but Target has it really inexpensive, followed by Sprouts.

I would also add any of the trendy Birkenstock shoes, perfume by Parfums de Voyage (Ulta/Amazon), and Alabaster Co. bible chapters!
