I was featured in a video about how I use Foursquare’s Swarm app while traveling. Swarm helps track the cool places you’ve been.
I travel a lot. Remembering all of the cool places I go is important to me. I want to share them with my friends!
In the interview, I talk a little about Museum Hack, traveling, and how I used Swarm to remember a remote monastery on the side of a mountain in China.
Video Transcript
My name is Nick Gray and my company is called Museum Hack. We do renegade museum tours at the best museums in the world.
A renegade museum tour is an ultra fast-paced live-action experience, led by one of our amazing tour guides and that we do in small groups. They are about two hours long and we see so many objects, way more than you do on most museum tours.
I travel a lot for work. And in fact, I know that because Swarm told me that in the last 30 days I slept in 23 different hotels.
When I travel I’d say I’m much more of a morning person than I am a nighttime person. I have the greatest amount of energy when I wake up in the morning. So I really enjoy waking up and then going out to walk and explore.
I was hiking on this mountain in western China a few weeks ago and I checked into a monastery on the side of a mountain so that I could recommend to my friends exactly where to go. I have to admit, I get a little satisfaction when I check into a place that none of my friends have ever been to before. Knowing that I’m the first one to go there feels like I’m a trailblazer.
