Room Review for Holiday Inn 57th St. in Midtown Manhattan (NYC)

This is a big hotel! 600+ rooms, right on 57th Street. With the top floor at 17, it is not a very tall hotel. The rooms are dated, but sufficient. And HUGE! Compared to other hotels in NYC, these rooms are very large.

I stayed here for 1 night on Sunday, October 16th, 2016. The room was booked on HotelTonight and I paid $109 for the room plus $21 taxes and fees = total $130.

This hotel feels old, but very functional. It is nice by Holiday Inn standards: power plugs by the beds, Keurig machine, big desk, free wifi, large Samsung TV with good channels and HD, and tons of space (did I mention how large the rooms are?).

The wifi was not bad!

Things I liked:

  • Big desk space.
  • Very decent free wifi.
  • Fast check-in, attentive staff.
  • Keurig in the room with K-cups for coffee and decaf. Plus Lipton tea bags.

Thing I disliked:

  • Bathroom felt cheap.
  • Walls, carpet feels very dated.
  • Bed feels flimsy.
  • Lights are different colors: some had tungsten-ish bulbs, others with LED-type white light.

I would not return. There’s no style, it is purely functional. I’m glad I checked it out to see the neighborhood, and the price is great.
