Come join me for a tour of Donald Judd’s house, now a museum. This 5-story home-museum is the only single-use cast iron building in Manhattan. Located at 101 Spring Street in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood.
History of Judd Foundation
In 1968 the artist Donald Judd bought this cast iron building for $70,000. He turned it into a house for his family.
101 Spring Street
Hello from 101 Spring Street. This is Donald Judd’s house, and I’m here on a visit with the Columns Club.
Located on the corner of Spring and Mercer, it’s the only remaining single-use cast iron building in Manhattan. It’s been restored and kept intact after his death. The whole building is basically a private museum to him now. Donald Judd was a minimalist, but he hated that term…
Thanks for the tour, Columns Club!
