Notes out the Door to Kerala
0 comments- Right now, I am killing some time at the house before the tailor comes to final fit me for some linen kurta pajama pants and three shirts.
- The Otis lift in the Gulmohar Apartment complex is really, really slow.
- Currently reading the book Shantaram. I really do not want it to end. It is a great, exciting, semi-factual Bombay book.
- Since I stopped drinking milk here, I have been going out for breakfast each morning. Today I had idli sambar and tea at a vegetarian restaurant on Hill Road.
- Even in this big city, the roads are in terrible condition. On the rainy days, cars take to weaving around puddles because you never know if a puddle is shallow or 5 feet deep. So a rickshaw ride along a straight, potted road becomes a zig-zag around potential mines.
- Dhost means friend in Hindi.
- The tailor arrived and the pants and shirts are AWESOME. Now I am meeting Kaushal and we'll get a taxi to the airport.
OK! Heading down south to Kerala now for Kaushal's cousin's wedding. I will be back in one week.
