Mobile Life - Other Service Provider Charges on T-Mobile

What is this charge on my mobile phone bill from?

I am being billed $1.99 for three instances of Mobile Content from the Mobile Life content provider. I think I am getting slammed for these charges. I have no idea what this is!

My phone is a Danger Sidekick II. I do not use ringtones or wallpaper, and all of my data charges are inclusive of my monthly bill.

I have tried three different times to refuse these charges on my bill, and T-Mobile just says it is impossible to get a refund. Furthermore, all three T-Mobile representatives that I spoke with had no idea who the Mobile Life content provider is!

Update 1 - I called T-Mobile again and they had this information.

Mobile Life is a third-party company. To cancel your premium service with Mobile Life, send the word STOP to this number - 21277. You can call them on the phone at 1-888-880-7577 (DISCONNECTED) or visit www.mobilelifestyles.com

Update 2 - I have reason to believe that Mobile Lifestyles, dba Mobile Life is a TOTAL SCAM. Buyer beware! These charges are nearly impossible to get reimbursed, and T-Mobile claims that they have no way to stop the charges. What a crummy billing system!

Comments:
I had to fight with them to cancel service (while in Italy) for three months. They said no way was I being refunded.

I did a chargeback through American Express and just got my money back that way. Of course, since I no longer wanted a T-Mobile relationship, I didn't have to worry about them.

I have Sprint service and just saw $23.88 worth of services on my bill. They were cool about it. They blocked the premium text service from my phone for me and credited my account. After seeing your site, I looked at the mobile lifestyles website and I did go there searching for ringtones, but I never signed up for any text messages. You are right, this is a BIG SCAM!!!

I just got off the phone with a very nice TMobile support rep regarding this same problem. He did credit me for most of the unwanted charges AND blacklisted 21277 which is the number the text messages are coming from. You might give that a try, good luck, this Mobile Lifestyles scam really sucks.

It is a big scam. This mobilelifestyle.
It is all deferred rvenue for them . They keep sending junk SMS and then they charge you for that. I got charged $24 and all for recieving those SMS. HOW Good is this.
The service provider are more helpful to them than to their customers atleast my provider was.
Is there any way to make these people not charge us money

It is such a scam! For 3 months now the same charges as mentioned have shown up on my bill. The first time T-Mobile refunded my money. The second time they told me to call mobilelife and gave me their number. I have called numerous times and have sent numerous emails with surprise no responses. I have never signed up for these services. They keep sending me text messages (unwanted) and each time they do they charge me $1.99 for each one. How is this possible? They must be making huge bucks with these fake charges. Their phone number is just an answering machine and no one ever returns your call. The third time I called TMobile the lady tried calling Mobile Life but did not get an answer (surprise) she told me she has black listed them and this should stop the charges. I guess I'll find out next month.

The Number you said is disconnected is a wrong number. It actually is 888.880.7575. I found this in there privacy statement.

Thank You.

I signed onto flycell.com to get some free ringtones, as their advertisement (which I naively thought was part of the webpage) said they had ring tones from the group I was reading about. I signed up with my cell number and provider (Sprint) and then they sent me an access code, which I stupidly put into my phone. Suddenly I was bombarded with four text messages. I unsubscribed immediately and wrote their customer service but never got a reply. I called Sprint who supposedly blocked the number. My sister who also has Sprint had the same problem but had not signed up for anything. She had to file a complaint with the FCC and call the senator and congressman's office to get her money back. Flycell is a total scam! When you sign on to get some free ringtones, you are signing up to get a weekly horoscope and some magazine and other stuff texted to your phone for charges of about 18 bucks a month. Stay away from them.

They just got me to. Thank goodness I have Sprint and they took the charge off and blocked them. How many people do not catch this? There should be a lawsuit!

my family has sprint as well and they removed the charge and told me how to stop the service. this apparently costs money too, but the rep said sprint would credit it back. she also told me that sprint is trying to form a class action lawsuit against mobile lifestyles and other premium text service scams because of all the complaints and cs issues that sprint is having. i say the all the mobile providers are to blame as much as the 3rd party scammers since they allow the billing to occur and pay these companies for these charges. such BS! i think the FCC needs to step up and address this shit. i read recently that advertisers are trying to beef up their mobile reach. does this mean we will start getting spam on our phones on a regular basis?????

Look at their damn Better Business Report online!

http://www.newyork.bbb.org/reports/businessreports.aspx?pid=44&page=1&id=88889

The damn thing grows and grows every week by several complaints and it was just made public by the BBB Org. about 2 weeks ago. Keep away!

Flycell is a big scam, promises something free then signs you up for a subscription then starts hammering you with charges and you can't contact anyone or their auto-cancel feature doesn't work.

I have Sprint also. I downloaded 1 ringtone and that cost $2.50. Now I am being billed $9.99 every month. Two separate charges of $9.99. I've called Mobile Lifestyles and they say they will cancel it and they NEVER do. It's a scam!!! Stay away from them!!

PLEASE HELP!!!!! I just got off the phone with Sprint after 2 hours. They have now "blocked" any premium messages from our phones but said that we will continue to receive charges unless we cancel our "subscription" with Mobile Lifestyles (which we NEVER signed up for!!!). I have called and left messages on their machine (because there is no one there to talk to) and I attempted to contact them via email but they wouldn't accept messages from non-subscribers without giving them loads of personal information. Does anyone have a story of how they were able to unsubscribe from this???? HELP!

FLYCELL.com is the worst company EVER!!! I never signed up with them and they began charging me $10 per month for nothing. when I tried to get reimbursed they refused and I got my cellphone provider cingular to credit me back the charge and dispute it with them. They are horrible. Never sign up with them it is a total SCAM!! I would report them negatively to whoever I can to put them out of business!!!! FLYCELL SUCKS!!!

I also HATE flycell. When i tried to contact them via e-mail - i got this response "While the situation is unfortunate and we can understand your frustration, the double opt-in process is used to ensure that the user willingly and knowingly agrees to sign-up for the service twice." I was NEVER aware that i would be charged for anything. I dod not knowingly agree to get charged for something so stupid. Maybe there something i missed in small writing, but all i saw was free free free. Total crap. Once again, I hate Flycell.

Check out this website from the BBB: http://www.newyork.bbb.org/reports/businessreports.aspx?pid=44&page=1&id=88889

I was also charged $9.99 a month for 2 months from flycell. When I have never requested any service even the free ringtone. They added this charge to my phone and T-mobile doesn't even have a record of any contact on my part with flycell. I filed a complaint with the BBB and the FCC as well as I am trying to get the local news channels to do pieces on these companies in order to get the information out and get the laws changed so that we can be contacted BY OUR CARRIERS before any charges are added to our bill.

I just spent 1 hour on the phone with Sprint and they only credited me for one month of $9.99 service that I have never signed up for. Unfortunately, I was not following my cell phone bill closely and have been being charge for over 6 months from this company for what reason I'm not sure. When I call the company, they tell you to leave your cell phone number and your call will be returned; Yeah right, leave my number so they can charge me again!! I wish that there was some way to get a class action suit on this company. This is incredible and I am furious. BIG BIG SCAM

I too was and still am baing raped by FLYCELL these guys are amazing because they started sending two of their services to my phone and I was being charged for two premium services THE SAME EXACT TEXT SERVICES neither where services that I wanted or asked for,in fact some where downright repulsive(i.e.join the army -meet nice people -then kill them)and more things along those same lines.I went to my service provider(VERIZON WIRELESS) and they looked at me like I was crazy and then called me a liar to my face. They told me that it was impossible to recieve text services unless you signed up for them. The definition of conspiracy as defined by the Federal government of the U.S.A. is when two or more conspire to defraud... Well I have been defrauded and then humiliated by my service provider(VERIZON WIRELESS)by being called a liar and I am still not resolved with the situation.I have texted stop, stop all,STOP,STOP ALL,stop joke, calling the number and demanding unsubscription, emailing and demanding unsubscription all for a service I never knew existed until long after they were illegally paying their rent with my hard earned money.
-pissed on by my soon to be ex-service provider whom I have been with for the last four years, have four accounts with and have never been late with a single bill;the same service provider whom is playing loan shark fraudulently for a scam(FLYCELL)

If you were charged on your cell phone bill for ringtones or other mobile content that you never authorized and/or you were sent unsolicited SMS text messages and you want to fight back against these companies, you might want to get in touch with some class action attorneys.

I believe these fellows are currently investigating unauthorized cell phone charges and wireless SMS text spam and might be able to help you:
