Do you like shopping for vintage t-shirts on eBay? I've got about 40 pieces of clothing- mostly vintage t-shirts- that I want to progress out of my wardrobe. I figure if anyone wants to buy these from me and pay for shipping, I can send a check to charity instead (like the Orangutan Foundation).
These are shirts I've collected over the last four years as a student at Wake Forest University, as a compulsive shopper during my two month internship in Bangkok, Thailand, and as a general vintage t-shirt hipster wannabe American 20-something.
Send me an e-mail if you want about 40 medium-sized vintage and assorted t-shirts for $50.

My Polish grandparents are in town from Cleveland this week. They are talking on Skype to my cousin Kasia in Geneva as I type this. The conversation is entirely in Polish and my grandfather is speaking faster than I've ever heard. He's always had a little trouble with English; old age doesn't improve your language skills, but today he is shining.
This is the first time I have been around my grandmother speaking fluent, conversational Polish. My mother talked about it but I have never heard. (My grandmother's English is great, so she tends to use it exclusively.)
"The quality is so good!" my grandfather keeps saying.
We took our picture on my cell phone and e-mailed it to Kasia.

Hello from the ground in Geneva, Switzerland! The best show news from EBACE 2005 is that Lufthansa Technik is ready to outfit the new Airbus A380 in VVIP configuration.
The 555 seat, double deck Airbus A380 is the most ambitious civil aircraft program yet. When it enters service in March 2006, the A380 will be the world's largest airliner, easily eclipsing Boeing's 747. source
The first two or three A380's have already been sold to places like Dubai and Qatar; are there really rumors of a private retrofit? Increasing oil prices do not reflect increasing Middle Eastern oil costs, but who am I to imagine!
The official announcement doesn't say much about possible interior options, suffice to say that the demo here (a few meters away from me as I type this) contains a personal gym, plenty of showers, huge bedrooms... and that's just the top floor! No swimming pool or wood burning fire place yet.
"Have you heard about the new A380 interior job? Just eight seats!" This is a funny joke because the A380 interior in a commercial aircraft installation will have over 500 seats- even up to 700! As one trade magazine quoted, a private Airbus A380 would be "the very last word in rich men's toys."

You shouldn't take my advice on stocks anymore. I missed a big opportunity by fully vesting before the GuruNet (AMEX: GRU) Q1 earnings call on Tuesday (read between the lines: I lost enough of my own money to buy two round-trip tickets to Hong Kong, complete with hotel stay). I hope you don't mind if I do a little public reflection on this poor decision as I continue to learn things the hard way.

I haven't talked about GuruNet on my blog like I have for other stocks. GuruNet was, as I told some friends, my opportunity to put my money where my mouth was and prove myself as a competent, savvy new-new-new economy investor.
So much for that idea.
By buying the stock before the quarterly numbers (my basis is around 18), I thought I could capitalize on the new profits and possibly some new analyst coverage. These were supposed to be show figures that Answers.com is a viable internet resource. So much for that, too.
The market thinks there's still some hot air to be deflated after getting blown up in February as a result of their unofficial Google partnership. That's good, I guess. We're not in bubble mentality anymore, and we're correcting ourselves quickly (albeit a correction at my loss, but still- in the big picture, that's OK).
As cliche as it sounds after any big dip, I still find this company attractive. I think it's an even better buy at these numbers. GuruNet gets it, but there's still some monetization work to do. Answers.com is really a great product, and if the site would work on my Sidekick II, things would be perfect in my little world. This drop means that my money is just going to have to work harder to make up the loss... and for the smart investor, now is an even better time to buy.
Update Pete, if you're reading this, I know you're going to remind me that dumb first-time investors with Ameritrade accounts are prone to hold onto their losses for way too long... but I plan to hold GRU until their work-out.

here's a report from the young IM chain-message scene...
Nick Gray WFU: I just got one of these, and
I used to get them about once or twice a week from random users of BuddyGopher that had me on their Buddy List. It's like a chain letter, but on IM! I think they are funny and I've never seen 'em documented anywhere. Mostly pre-teenies.
